Patients and Visitors
Current Visitor Guidelines
In response to the presence of COVID-19 in our community as well as state, our hospital has implemented a restricted Patient Visitor Policy based on recommendations from CDC and our infectious disease experts.
Entry to Davis Regional is limited to the main/visitor entrance from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m. The emergency department entrance is open 24 hours/day. The east entrance is open from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m. for patients coming for rehabilitation therapy or for pre-admission surgical testing. All other entrances will be closed to the public.
Visitation Specifics
- Visitation hours are from 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. for general medical/surgical patients.
- Visitors are limited to one visitor at a time per patient.
- Maternity patients may have one support person which should be the same support person throughout the patient’s stay. Visiting hours do not apply to a maternity patient's support person. A maternity patient may also have a certified Doula.
- Adult surgery patients undergoing same-day procedures may have one adult accompany them on the day of surgery.
- Pediatric surgery patients undergoing same-day procedures may have two parents/guardians. Only one parent/guardian will be allowed in the surgical patient care area during pre-operative and post-operative care.
- Emergency Department
- Minor patients <18 years old may have two parents/guardians.
- Adult patients may have one adult visitor.
- Visiting hours do not apply to the emergency department.
- Behavioral health patients are restricted from in-person visitors at this time. A modified visitation plan is in place for patients who wish to see family members. Special circumstances will be managed by the treating physician and facility leaders.
- Clergy may visit their parishioners at any hour.
VVisitors must be at least 18 years of age. Visitors will be screened with a temperature check and asked if they have COVID-19 symptoms. Each visitor must wear a mask while in the facility. If they do not have a mask, one will be provided for them. Visitors should stay in the patient’s room or designated area except when arriving or departing from the hospital.
To minimize unnecessary exposure to infectious or communicable diseases, visitor restrictions are in place and non-essential activities are temporarily suspended until further notice, including community education seminars, Senior Circle meetings, Special Delivery tours, Medical Explorers meetings, and Sunshine Volunteers' meetings and events.
The COVID-19 hospital and clinic visitor policy is intended to provide additional safeguards for our patients, families, visitors, and caregivers through decreased exposure to individuals who may have been exposed to the novel coronavirus that causes COVID-19.
Due to the changing nature of COVID-19’s presence in our area, this policy may be revised accordingly in response to circumstances.
