Volunteer Opportunities

At Davis Regional Medical Center, our volunteers come from many backgrounds, but each one shares a love of people and a commitment to serve others. If these statements describe you, the Sunshine Volunteer Association may be just what you're looking for in your life.
Volunteer Purpose
The purpose of the Sunshine Volunteer Association is to render service to Davis Regional Medical Center and its patients, to bring cheer and comfort to those who are ill, and to assist the hosptial in promoting the health and welfare of the community, in accordance with the objectives established by the hospital administration and Board of Trustees.
What Do I Do Next?
As a potential volunteer, you must submit an application and undergo a complete background and reference check. Next, you will meet with a member of the Volunteer Services staff to discuss current opportunities.
Upon selection to the program, you will attend a hospital orientation program and receive training for your chosen area of interest. Current areas of service include, but are not limited to:
- Front Desk
- Gift Shop
- Emergency Department
- Outpatient Waiting Area
- Materials Management
- Facilities Management
- Clerical Support
- Craft Committee
- Greeters/Escorters
Several of our Sunshine Volunteers knit or crochet caps for newborns and others make walker pouches for rehab patients, burp pads for infants and bibs for toddlers. Whatever special gifts or talents you have to share are greatly appreciated at Davis Regional Medical Center .

Lillie Norket Scholarship
Each year the Sunshine Volunteer Association awards scholarships to deserving students who are pursuing medically related health care careers. Application submissions must be received in the Volunteer Office by April 12th, and scholarshps are awarded for the Fall Semester. Over the years, the Association has awarded over $100,000 to students.
