Fitness Center
Davis Regional Medical Center’s rehabilitation department is home to the fitness program, an independent exercise program. The department encompasses over 7,000 square feet and is divided into the gym and aquatic areas.
In the gym, fitness members have access to aerobic equipment consisting of treadmills, aerodyne bikes, recumbent bikes, arm bikes, rowing machine and stair climber. Members may also use the weight machines for upper extremities, lower extremities, low back and abdominals.
The department also features a 20’ x 40’ heated, therapeutic, indoor pool. With handrails on each side and steps for easy access, the pool ranges from 3½’ to 5’ deep and is a warm therapeutic 85 degrees. Since it is a therapy pool, lap swimming is prohibited. Open swim and a variety of aquatic classes are offered at scheduled times, each designed for different purposes from entry level to more strenuous activity. Classes such as Shapely Mommies and Aqua Mommies are also offered for expectant and new mothers.
Due to Medicare/Medicaid strict regulations regarding therapy services and exercise programs in the same area, hours for the fitness program are limited.
