Having Diabetes is not easy. Diabetes is a serious, life-long condition that is not curable, but is treatable. Our goal at the Davis Diabetes Care Center is to help you and your family learn daily management skills to keep you healthy. Proper nutrition, medication, exercise and blood sugar monitoring can help you improve the quality of your life and avoid future complications. Education benefits patients in all stages of diabetes. A Comprehensive Program

The Diabetes Care Center Program includes a complete assessment by the diabetes nurse coordinator and the clinical dietitian. On your first visit, you will receive one-to-one counseling with a registered nurse and a clinical dietitian/nutritionist. They will discuss basic diabetes survival skills, medications and monitoring. This assessment lasts approximately 2 hours.

Follow-up visits are scheduled based on your individual need for additional education and monitoring.

• Instruction for Gestational Diabetes Management.
