Davis Regional Pharmacy Offers Anticoagulation Expertise

Officials at Davis Regional Medical Center announced that Pharmacy Director Chuck Fogle, PharmD, recently completed specialized training and is now certified to provide Anticoagulation disease management.  This comprehensive training program was provided by the UNC-Chapel Hill Eshelman School of Pharmacy.   As an Anticoagulation Pharmacists, Fogle is an active participant in the care of patients who are receiving or will require anticoagulation therapy at the hospital.  Anticoagulation therapy, such as Warfarin or Heparin, aid in preventing blood clots, but this therapy may also pose a risk of excessive bleeding for patients.  With Fogle’s training and expertise, he will be a valuable resource for patients and physicians and can have a dramatic impact on the care and treatment for these patients.      

Fogle received his Doctor of Pharmacy from Campbell University, where he distinguished himself with honors such as Deans List, member of “Who’s Who” and as a member of the University Pharmacy School Executive Board.  In addition, he is a Certified Pharmacist Vaccinator and an Advanced Cardiac Life Support Provider.  He also served in the US Marine Corp from January 1985 to November 2001, achieving the rank of Warrant Officer.  He joined the staff of Davis Regional Medical Center in July 2008.
